Governance
MEDICA is a public limited company with a board of directors. Floated on the Paris stock exchange in February 2010, the company adheres to good governance practices and notably follows the principles laid out in the Good Corporate Governance codes established by French professional organizations MEDEF, AFEP and MIDDLENEXT.

Jacques Bailet
Chairman and CEO
Jacques Bailet served with various financial institutions before joining Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) in 1989. During his 14 years at CDC, he held different senior management positions in the commercial enterprise department and in the local government area. He has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MEDICA since 1999. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Syndicat National des Établissements et Résidences Privées pour Personnes Agées (SYNERPA) and a director of Fédération de l’Hospitalisation Privée (FHP).
Mr. Bailet is a graduate of Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales.
Christine Jeandel
Deputy CEO
Christine Jeandel began her career working in property development and management at Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC). Since 1999, she has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MEDICA. She is also a director of Syndicat National des Établissements et Résidences Privées pour Personnes Agées (SYNERPA), Union Nationale des Cliniques Psychiatriques Privées (UNCPSY) and Formation Hospitalière et Médico-Sociale Privée (FORMAHP).
Ms. Jeandel holds a Master’s in economic and social administration from Université de Paris II – Panthéon-Assas and a post-graduate degree in urban development from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Mathieu Fabre
Chief Financial Officer
Mathieu Fabre began his career in 1997 at the Aurel Leven brokerage firm before moving on to the Close Brothers financial services group. He was hired by MEDICA in 2004 as Financial Controller and was subsequently appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2009.
Mr. Fabre holds a Master’s in management and a DESS post-graduate degree from Université Paris IX Dauphine.
Alexandra Devic
Director of Human Resources
Alexandra Devic joined MEDICA’s Human Resources Department in 1994 and was named Director of Human Resources in 2004. She is a member of the social commission for France’s private hospital industry.
Ms. Devic holds a Master’s in private law and a DEA post-graduate degree in medical law from Université de Paris VIII
Dr. Didier Armaingaud
Medical Director
Didier Armaingaud started his career in 1992 at Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris as manager of La Collégiale, Hôtel-Dieu Hospital’s long-term care unit. In 1994, he was appointed coordinating physician by a family-owned retirement home company, which in 1999 became MEDICA France. That same year he was appointed MEDICA France's Medical Director.
Mr. Armaingaud is a medical doctor with a specialisation in gerontology.

Lionel Calvez (representing GMF Vie - Covéa group)
Lionel Calvez began his career in September 2000 as an Asset/Liability and Profitability Analyst at MAAF Vie, the life insurance subsidiary of MAAF Assurances (Covea Group). He was subsequently appointed Head of the Actuarial and Information Systems Department. Since 2006, he has been in charge of MAAF Assurances’ Financial Strategy Department.
Mr. Calvez holds an actuarial degree from EURIA.
Charles Ruggieri (representing Monroe - Batipart group)
Charles Ruggieri is the founder of Batipart, a family-owned holding company created in 1988. After 15 years in the steel industry, he switched his focus to real estate, first developing operations for Immobilière Batibail, then for Groupe Foncière des Régions. In 2000, he also began branching out into the health industry, helping to set up Korian, a private operator of retirement homes in France, Germany and Italy.
Mr. Ruggieri holds a doctorate of law.
Christian Chautard
Christian Chautard held various operating positions in production, sales and marketing and strategy for two leading metallurgy companies from 1972 to 1981. In 1982, he began working as an international business consultant specialised in strategy, organisation and corporate governance. He worked for various firms in Europe and the United States, particularly Mercer (now Olivier Wyman). He is a director of Marsh SA and was on the board of directors of Batipart until June 9, 2011.
Mr. Chautard graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Catherine Soubie (independent)
Catherine Soubie began her career in 1989 at Lazard, first in London, then in Paris, where she was a Director in the Corporate Finance Department. She then held various executive positions at Morgan Stanley in Paris, including that of Managing Director. In 2005, she joined Rallye as Deputy Managing Director. Since 2010, she has served as Managing Director, Deputy Head of Investment Banking, France at Barclays Capital.
Ms. Soubie is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris.
Gilles Cojan (independent)
Gilles Cojan served as Treasurer of the pharmaceutical company Servier from 1978 to 1986. He was subsequently appointed Managing Director of the Banque Transatlantique subsidiary, GTI Finance. In 1990, he was hired by Valeo to manage its Financing and Treasury Department. In 1992, he joined Elitair (renamed Elior in 1998) as Chief Financial Officer. In 2001, he was appointed member of the Executive Committee and Managing Director of Elior International and, in December 2003, he was named Group Managing Director in charge of international operations and strategy. Since September 2007, he has been Managing Director of Octant Partenaires and SOFIBIM, Elior’s long-standing shareholder. He is also a member of the Strategy Committee, as well as of the Elior Group’s Executive Committee, in charge of strategy and partnerships.
Mr. Cojan is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales.
Guy de Panafieu (independent)
A former French government finance inspector, Guy de Panafieu worked at the French Ministry for Economy and Finance from 1968 to 1982, where he dealt with foreign trade and international economic relations. He was an advisor to the French president on international economic issues from 1978 to 1981. From 1983 to 1997, he held various executive positions at Lyonnaise des Eaux, including that of Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He then served as Chairman of Bull from 1997 to 2001. He is currently Senior Advisor at Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank, Chairman of the India Committee at MEDEF International and Vice-Chairman of BIAC, OECD’s advisory committee for industry.
Mr. de Panafieu holds an undergraduate degree in economics and is a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
